10 months old
Time just keeps flying by and I find myself here writing an update for two months wondering where the time keeps going. Caitlyn continues to be her sweet, smiley and cuddly self with a few fussy moments as she continues teething. She provides hours of entertainment - I love watching her and often wonder what's going on in that little mind of hers. She can now get up and down with ease but really doesn't have any interest in walking yet (and who can blame her when she's crawling so fast?). She is cruising around a bit and crawling faster than ever. I like to call it her turbo mode. I literally have to sprint after her when she puts her boosters on. She has been talking up a storm but we're not quite sure she's said any words officially. There have been a few times where we swear it sounds like she's saying Daisy, but those could just be our parental delusions. She does tend to say mamama over and over when she's in distress but I don't think she's realized yet that I'm that person. We're also trying out a baby signing DVD from the library and hope to teach her some signs over the next few weeks to help her communicate better.
Doing her Mowgli walk
We discovered that she loves lemons (so much for my photo op of a puckered face)
Super tired in her highchair

Happy St. Patty's Day!
One of her new faces when she's excited or happy
The past few weeks she has taken a real interest in books. She'll pull all of hers out, turning the pages and going over the touch and feel. And just this week she started pointing at pictures in them. She loves musical instruments and has been playing the maracas and tambourine my friend's mom got her. She has become fascinated with doors and will sit and bat them back and forth. A new favorite game of hers is being chased. She'll take off crawling, stop, and turn around and giggle when we chase after her. Then she take off and starts all over again. She's made a game out of chasing Daisy (which I'm not sure is appreciated by the chasee). Oddly, she's developed this weird propensity to green objects. She just tends to go for green first. Her favorite toy is a retro Little People figure in, you guessed it, green - whom we affectionately refer to as Mrs. Green. Now that her hair is growing out, she loves playing with it and calms herself by running and twirling her fingers through it. She is quite the water baby and absolutely loves the bathtub. She splashes around like crazy and gets excited when I dump water on her head. She's been waving hello and goodbye intermittently and last week figured out how to climb the stairs.
Her eating has been getting better. She's able to eat much chunkier food and is cramming cheerios in her mouth with ease, when she's not throwing them at Daisy. She can drink out of a sippy cup if there's water or juice but not milk. And I'm proud to say our persistence with holding her bottle has paid off - she can now hold her bottle easily, even in her car seat making traveling a little easier.
Up next month: Gymboree gym classes and swim lessons!
