The beautiful spring flowers
Spring is in the air (at least it is most days) and so it is time again for Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum. Every Monday and Tuesday for the next month they have a face painter, petting zoo, storytime, arts and crafts and Kindermusik. It's a great place for Caitlyn to be able to run around in and get some fresh air. This year's theme is fairy castles with several castles built on the grounds for kids to run around and explore. We decided to take advantage of our membership and head out there the first Monday. It was a balmy 50 degrees with 20 mph winds, but we braved it the best we could and had a really great time. Caitlyn is getting a little less hesitant and actually pet most of the animals at the zoo. She loved the bunny and baby goat but wasn't so sure about the big sheep. We tried face painting for the first time (I told her it was makeup) and although she wouldn't sit in the chair, she did let them paint her face and was not happy when Daddy tried to wash it off that night. Above all else, I think she really loved being able to run free and explore and Mommy loved not worrying about her getting into the street. We ended our outing with a picnic lunch in the garden. It was such a success I think we'll be heading back every week before it either gets too hot or I get too big.
