Two Months in Review

I took Caitlyn in for her two month old check up this morning.  Time keeps flying by!  She currently weighs in at 10 lbs 5.6 oz and is 23 inches long.  The doctor said she is doing great and is really interactive, social and strong.  The worst part of the appointment?  The vaccinations.  She had to get five different shots and it broke my heart to have to hold her down while she was screaming and crying.  *Sigh*  I called Brian immediately afterwards and told him he needed to be there for the next appointment because I don't know if I can handle that again.

So for our two month review, our little monkey has been growing leaps and bounds.  As of now, her eyes are still blue and lighter than before.  She is sleeping 7-9 hours a night (she is really spoiling me for future kids).  A few weeks ago she found her hands and has been steadily gnawing on them ever since.  She now uses her hands to reach out for her hanging toys or to grab onto to my hair or necklace.  She has been  smiling and cooing more frequently over the last few weeks.  My favorite time of day with her is in the morning.  When I go into her nursery she immediately looks up and smiles at me.  It melts my heart every time.  She will "talk" for hours and I love "talking" back.  Her favorite song is "You are My Sunshine".  She still loves her swing and her play mat, but a new favorite is the Bumbo chair.  I've been putting her in it for a few minutes every day to develop her muscles.  She loves being able to sit up and take in her surroundings.  Her legs have gotten pretty powerful and she can already stand on them with all her weight if we're holding her up.

Caitlyn is truly a daddy's girl.  He can calm her like no one else can.  He has perfected the "Caitlyn Bounce" that I never can seem to find the right rhythm for and she will fall asleep like that sitting up in his arms.  She really is a sweet baby and, for the most part, calm and happy.  I am really looking forward to seeing her personality emerge as she gets older.

  1. Aw, look how much she has changed since her last horsy picture!!! She is SO cute and I love that her eyes are still so blue. Yes, you are getting spoiled on the sleep, but you deserve it... you have been consistent, calm, and have stuck to a routine. Way to go, Mommy!
