I feel like I say this every month, but it's hard to believe Caitlyn is 8 months old. I miss the days when she was so small but I love that each day brings something new. She has tons of personality already and spunk in spades. No more teeth yet, but she is drooling and chewing on anything and everything, including the new corner protection covers we put on the coffee table. While she can't pull herself completely up, she has mastered crawling. She went quickly from crawling to pulling up onto her knees and balancing there. Now she moves from one position to the next seamlessly and is all over the place and into everything (and is fearless to boot). Needless to say, babyproofing has commenced in earnest - outlets are covered, we have a baby gate upstairs, door stoppers have been replaced. She even pulled over a large iron and glass vase we had by the fireplace, shattering it. It seems we drastically underestimated her intense curiosity. I have to keep a sharp eye on Daisy's bowl or it will fall victim to her splashing and she often crawls off to the kitchen to talk to her reflection in our dishwasher.
She is always quick to laugh and smile with a large mischievous grin - melting my heart on a daily basis. She constantly babbles and has said "dada", "mama", "gaga", baba", "yaya" but not to anybody or anything in particular. She definitely likes to hear herself talk!
Right now she is loving the music table we got her for Christmas, her retro Fisher Price phone, her nighttime glow seahorse and the Little People sets. Although she tends to get distracted by any type of box or container she can bang on. She is sleeping like a champ - from 9pm to 9am and takes 2 naps a day. Brian and I are truly spoiled in that regard. I'm still working on her eating - she seems to prefer solids over the bottle but both can be a challenge.
