St. Ann's Carnival (no Disneyland, but a close second)

Daddy and Caitlyn in the teacups

Two weekends ago we had the chance to take Caitlyn to our church's annual carnival. I'm not so sure about the time of year - it was unbelievably hot - but it was well worth it's weight in sweat. Brian had the chance to take Caitlyn on the toddler friendly rides, and while it was no Disneyland, it did help make up a little for the fact that he wasn't able to be there. She didn't seem as enthused with the rides. Maybe it was the heat, but I like to think she sensed the risk you take on those creaky carny rides.

We met up with our neighbors whose son shares the same birthday with Caitlyn and I think she enjoyed having a friend to explore with. They loved the petting zoo, but were wary of the bounce house, although that could have been because the older kids were bouncing in circles around them. Caitlyn made an escape but then decided she wanted to hang out a little longer so Brian had to drag her out by her toes. Most of all Caitlyn loved being able to run around and explore, which presented some challenge for Brian and me - she is surprisingly fast and nimble - especially when you're lugging around a stroller and trying to get pictures of her being so fast and nimble. Afterwards I told myself I would be much less judgmental of parents who attach their children to a harness and leash.
