18 Months in Review

My little sweet pea, when did you get so big? It's hard to remember how small you once were. Every day you seem to do something new, whether it's adding a new word to your vocabulary or going down a slide all on your own. You're very observant, keenly watching everything we do and then trying to imitate us. You're shy at first, taking in everything, but once you warm up you become a total impish ham. You love laughing, and often do so maniacally with a huge grin on your face. And most thankfully, you're independent. You love being with Mommy and Daddy, but are perfectly content with playing with your toys or exploring your surroundings.

You're speaking around 50 words now, although your favorites are still baby and Daisy. You can point to several body parts (ears and mouth being the newest additions) and can make several animal sounds when prompted. You devour spaghetti and drink your milk like it's going out of style, but I can hardly get you to eat much of anything else. You're too busy playing and running around.

You love playing on the computer and tolerate watching football and basketball with Daddy. But you do make a great cheerleader. You like "cooking" with Mommy's pots and pans, and even "make" smoothies with my mini blender. You have not met a sweet you don't like and love to giggle with a mischievous smile. You were given a dancing Snoopy for Halloween and love dancing along to the Peanuts theme song. You can bust quite the move. You have become a little mommy, taking care of your baby dolls - feeding them, changing their diapers and even suctioning their noses.

You love reading, but are going through a stage where you want to read all by yourself. You're very interested in Once Upon a Potty and have taken to sitting on the training potty I bought you, sometimes just because. You twirl your hair when you drink your milk and even pull your hair out, leaving one side of your head with considerably less hair.

You are so incredibly special. I cannot imagine our lives without you. I love the way you smell and the way you snuggle into the crook of my neck. I love how the smallest thing can make you happy and the way you pout your lips when you're upset. I love everything about you. So my darling dimpled daughter, I want you to know that for everything you are and aren't, we love you so much.
