Double the fun

It's official. Caitlyn's going to be a big sister (x2)! Yup, Brian and I are expecting twins next summer. We kind of had a feeling it was twins - it runs on both side of my family and I had definitely been sicker and more tired than with Caitlyn - but were still appropriately shocked when we found out. I had been very sick the weekend before my first ultrasound and was really worried, especially when the sonogram looked so different. I asked if everything was ok and they said, "Yes, there's two babies in there!" Brian and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes and said something along the lines of "Oh crap! I knew it!" We're very excited, nothing like killing two birds with one stone, but also a little scared. Just thinking about the logistics of going to the grocery store is panic inducing. But we'll manage, people always do.

My official due date is June 11, but since they won't let twins go longer than 38 weeks, I won't deliver any later than May 27th. There's a good chance I could deliver earlier than that as the average delivery date for twins is at 35 weeks. So keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer that I can keep these two jumping beans baking inside until the end of May. As of today, I am 13 weeks, 2 days pregnant (I know I need to get a belly pic up soon). I had my 12 week appointment last week - I have to see a specialist every month since it's considered a higher risk pregnancy - and everything looks great so far. And, with his special ultrasound equipment, the early guess is a boy and a girl!
