Two years and I don’t even know where to begin. You’re definitely transforming into a little lady right in front of your Mommy and Daddy’s eyes, although we have seen some glimpses into the terrible twos. It’s hard to believe that two short years ago you came into this world and completely stole our hearts. You have become such a sweet, thoughtful and caring person and we love (most of the time) your incredibly impish, mischievous streak.
You are as girly as they come and love to get your hair done, nails polished and put jewelry on. You’ve become quite the little mommy, taking care of your babies on a daily basis – feeding them, changing diapers, brushing their hair, carrying them around (your Daddy and I hope all this practice serves you well when the twins arrive). And whenever we’re around other little babies you immediately turn into that mommy mode giving lots of hugs and kisses and trying to take care of them. You’ve also developed a recent love of all things princess. You carry around your princess dolls, want to read your princess books and love watching “princess” (Beauty and the Beast).
You’re still very observant, cautious and shy at first, but once you’ve warmed up you are quite the ham. You’ve also become a little bolder – going down the slide on your bottom instead of backwards on your tummy and even participating at storytime. You love dancing and have recently starting singing, even making up words to your own songs, although your favorites are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Gymbo song. You are quite the little chatterbox. I lost count when you hit 100 words a few months ago, but you can usually get your point across fairly well and can even say some 5-6 word sentences. A few weeks ago I told you I loved you and you replied, “I love you too, Mommy,” absolutely melting my heart.
You’ve been doing a great job in your big girl bed – staying there all night – although you’ve recently started waking up earlier and running full force into our bedroom to wake me up in the mornings. You sleep about 11-12 hours a night and still take one afternoon nap usually around an hour and a half.
I’m also happy to report that at your 2 year check in you are weighing in at 25 lbs which puts you in the 32%, a big jump from the 10% where you had been. And after getting read the riot act for still giving you milk mixed with OJ, I left it out cold turkey and you’ve had no problems going without it. You’re not a big breakfast eater, although I can usually get you to eat some peanut butter and a bagel with cream cheese.
A few of your current loves and dislikes:
Loves: Your baby dolls, all things princess (especially Beauty and the Beast), Elmo, The Backyardigans, Fresh Beats Band, Sloppy Joes, spaghetti, salad, pickles, chocolate, suckers, keys, dancing with Daddy, singing, helping Mommy, saying good bye to things (your dolls, Daisy, a chair, etc), playing with your neighborhood and MOMs Club friends
Dislikes: avocado, pancakes, waffles, eggs, mac n cheese, doing things you don’t want to (or being told no)
Monkey doodle, your Mommy and Daddy love you!
