Brian and I decided it was time to take our family of five on the road last weekend to introduce the twins to his family in Houston. His Granddad has been unable to travel to see us and while we've been Skyping every weekend, it's just not quite the same. It was a pretty brutal drive down. We left in the afternoon which was nice but, because of the timing, we were in between feedings and had to stop to take care of that. With Daisy in the car and triple digit weather, we had to take turns going to the bathroom and getting food, and had to feed everyone and do diaper changes in the car. Not an ideal situation but, after 6 long hours, we finally made it! Caitlyn had a great time being spoiled by Beanie (or 'B' as she calls her) and I was even able to get out of the house with my best friend from middle school to have a girl's only lunch. Later in the day we had a family get together and with the Morrow's there is definitely always fun to be had.
On Sunday, we went to Brian's Granddad's retirement community to see his new apartment and show the twins off. They were a total hit. We were instant celebrities as everyone cruised by with their canes and walkers to check out our dynamic duo. A 95 year old man even shook Brian's hand saying, "Congratulations Champ!" It was a short visit but I'm so grateful we were able to make it happen. And, thankfully, the car ride back was timed in a much better manner shaving 2 hours off of the drive time and making it a lot more pleasant.
