6 months in review - Part 1

Our big guy is six months old! It's hard to believe half a year has passed since we were blessed with these two little monkeys. Life is still a little tough, but it's getting easier all the time. Chase continues to get bigger by the second. We had his 6 month check up this week and he is weighing in at 18 pounds, 5 ounces (59%) and is 26.75 inches tall (56%). And it's official. He has a big head, as in 94th percentile. The doctor said she didn't see anything to be concerned about and that it's probably genetic because I have a big head. Thanks doc! Chase has been loving eating solid food. He hasn't met a food he won't eat. Note that I did not say that he hasn't met a food he doesn't like. Even if he's making horrible faces and doesn't like what I'm serving, he will still eat all of it. I have a feeling he will be eating us out of house and home as a teenager.

Chase has hit a few milestones this month. He's now rolling over from his back to his tummy and, on the day he turned 6 months, he got his very first tooth followed quickly by his second the next morning. I thought he would be fussier since he's more high maintenance, but he actually took it all on stride. He's gotten much better at tummy time and will tolerate it for a decent amount of time if he has toys to play with. He amazes us with how strong his hands are. He has a vise-like kung fu grip and can easily rip down his hanging toys and pick up even big ones. We still have some issues with naps during the day, but he does consistently sleep 11-12 hours a night so I can't complain.

He's still loving his bouncer seat and he likes to hang out in the jumperoo, literally. He'll turn around and play but won't bounce. I'm not sure if he can't or just doesn't want to.
Personality-wise, he is a happy guy with the biggest, goofiest grin. He loves getting love, cuddles and attention. He can be left alone but we have to be out of sight. As soon as we're spotted, he starts fussing for our attention. It can get annoying when I'm trying to get something done, but he just gives me that grin and he's so stinking cute I can't stand it.
