7 & 8 months in review - Part 1

7 months old

The Chase man continues to be our little ham, grinning away and constantly making us laugh. He still would prefer to be held but is playing by himself for longer periods of time. I find it helpful to hide - because once I've been spotted he wants to be picked up. He's a great eater - never turning down what he's offered - and we've even tried some table food with much success. He likes chicken, broccoli and strawberries, but raspberries proved a little too tart for his taste.

He hasn't gotten any more teeth but he is drooling like crazy. Boys just seem to have more bodily fluids overall and are kind of gross. He will soak through his shirt and several bibs a day, not to mention his sheets. He is sleeping great at this point. If given the opportunity, he will take a 3+ hour nap during the day. I've even taken to putting him down for an evening nap after he eats dinner and he will sleep until I wake him up for his bedtime bottle and then promptly go down for the night for another 12 hours! This has curbed most of his nighttime fussing and makes getting dinner ready a lot easier.

He's still not a huge fan of the jumperoo but he can actually bounce in it now, although not nearly as much as his nimble sister. He's started "talking" in earnest and will babble frequently throughout the day. And his biggest milestone of the month is actually sitting up (mostly at least). He rolls around easily but is showing no signs of getting ready to crawl. If anything he lifts his arms and legs rapidly as if he's trying to move, but gets really frustrated when he doesn't go anywhere.

This month Chase finally got up on his hands and knees. He hasn't made any progress from there yet, but will rock himself back and forth. His love for food continues and he actually cries when his bottle or baby food is gone. He is a massive flirt and knows how to work the ladies. He has this perfect combination of smiling and looking away bashfully. He's definitely stolen this momma's heart.
