7 & 8 months in review - Part 2

7 months old

Emerson is our super sweet little girl. She has such a great disposition I just can't help being happy around her (most of the time). Her giggle is so stinking adorable and Caitlyn can get her to crack up in hysterics like no other. This month she got her first teeth - the bottom two - and used the highchair for the first time. She refuses to eat and meat or veggies unless they're mixed with fruit. She's sleeping well at night but even then she doesn't sleep as long as Chase, and naps have become challenging. She doesn't seem to sleep as soundly and tends to take quick catnaps.

Emerson is pretty coordinate and really strong. She started crawling this month and is very independent. She likes to explore and be on the move. She is always on the go and wiggling around. She's not a huge cuddler because she knows she has places to go and people to see. She can sit up now with no issues but she won't because she'd rather be scooting along the floor checking things out. She's also started "talking" this month and will say mama and dada but not to anyone in particular.

As the months go by Emerson seems to be growing so much less than our big galute of a boy. She looks like a pygmy compared to Chase. It will be interesting to see how they measure up at their 9 month check up. She is crawling everywhere now and is literally getting faster by the day. She is our little explorer, getting into everything and even trying to climb over things (like her brother!). Every day, like clockwork, she goes to this one spot under the swing where I keep a bin of baby care toys and proceeds to dump it on the floor. I'm not sure what the attraction is, but it keeps her occupied for over an hour sometimes. She's been fussier lately, and I'm not sure if it's teething or because she's starting to experience separation anxiety. She absolutely adores her big sister and crawls after her all over the house. She and Chase are also starting to interact more and it's fun to watch them smile and laugh at each other, all while they steal each other's pacifiers.
