Even though Brian felt she was too young, I signed Caitlyn up for soccer this season through the Y. She had several friends signing up I thought it would be good for her in terms of teamwork and being active. Our first practice began well when we got to the field. She kicked the ball into the goal and seemed to be having fun, until practice actually started. Caitlyn had a total meltdown. She would not listen to the coach, would not participate and sat down in the middle of the field and threw a temper tantrum. It was a total and utter epic fail. But I decided we were going to ride it out and go to all practices and games regardless and finish the season out. The next practice was infinitely better and Caitlyn actually seemed to be having fun. Since then, the games and practices have been hit or miss depending on how she is feeling but I'm still glad we stuck with it. She's certainly not the best player but it thrills me to watch her trying and playing with her friends.
Goal!
At her first game with her good friend Paul
