15 months in review - Part 1

Our sweet boy just turned 15 months old.  He has a total joy of life and continues to make us laugh on a daily basis.  There is not a shy bone in his body and he loves being around people.  He has experienced not one moment of separation anxiety.  He always has a huge grin on his face and loves snuggling, hugging and giving kisses.  He still gravitates towards playing with balls and can easily throw them one handed and overhanded (he has huge bear paws).  He hasn't started walking yet but he makes up for it by crawling at warp speed.  His screaming has gotten a little better, but he definitely has a set of pipes on him and he knows how to use them.

Chase plays hard, and sleeps hard.  He takes 1-2 naps a day depending on our plans and sleeps a solid 11 hours at night.  He is the first to get fussy when he wakes up and will start tossing things out of his crib and bouncing around to let us know he is ready to start the day.

In terms of milestones, there have been a lot over the last three months.  He has three new teeth on top including his two first molars and has the wet shirts and sheets to show for it.  He has become quite the climber and can easily make it up any slide (even twisty two-story ones).  He started going down slides headfirst (a sight to see with that noggin), but now has the trunk control to go down while sitting up.  While he started just climbing up the slides, by this month he has made it to the top of multiple indoor playgrounds and has had to have assistance getting down.  He is the first to explore his surroundings and has no fear striking out on his own.  He is cruising around with ease and, the day before he turned 15 months, he actually took his first steps!  Just a few and they sure weren't pretty, but he did it.  His first word was ball and he can now say no, mama, tickle and sign 'all done'.

His 15 month check up was today and he continues to be our big lug.  He is 30.75 inches tall (67%) and is 25 pounds, 12.5 ounces (66%).  He weighs more than what Caitlyn did at 2 years old!  I'm also happy to report that his body seems to be catching up with his head and vice versa.  His head circumference is down to the 83 percentile.  The doctor said everything looked good but she wants me to come in for a follow up in 6 weeks to make sure he is walking and has learned more words.  Given his recent first steps, I'm pretty sure he'll be running around by then!

Favorites: Throwing balls, rolling anything with wheels across the floor, climbing and going down slides, snuggling, rough-housing, grilled cheese, yogurt, strawberries, raisins, cheese

Dislikes: green beans, broccoli, waiting patiently
