3 and 1/4

Splash pad fun at a friend's birthday party

Our sweet little girl who's not so little anymore.  It's bittersweet watching you grow up so fast.  You're spunky (and sometimes stubborn) streak continues as you test your boundaries and independence.  All in all you're calm and sweet, but you've definitely had your moments.  Chase and Emmy have truly become your sidekicks and partners in crime.  You play together all the time and you always have a way of cracking each other up.

You're still reserved in unfamiliar situations but once you warm up, watch out!  You love to sing (off tune) and dance.  Since you were a flower girl you been pretending you're getting married almost every day.  Daddy's usually the lucky man and I have to admit, my heart melts every time.  You absolutely love books.  If you're not reenacting story time for Chase and Emmy, you're asking for 5 more minutes at bedtime to read.  You've developed a love of swimming and will now jump in all by yourself, put your head under and even try to actually swim.  You tell me you're a mermaid.  You're also quite the budding chef and really enjoy baking and helping me in the kitchen (sneaking tastes of brown sugar and the batter are your favorites).

You still take a nap most of the time (thankfully) and even if you don't, you stay in your bed reading for quiet time.  You recently made the transition to underwear at naps and have had no accidents.  Next step night time!

Recent loves: Little Bear, getting married (to everyone and everything), jumping in the pool all by yourself, the bounce house at the Y, watching movies, popcorn, gummy worms, soda, bagels with cream cheese, sticky fruit strips, yogurt raisins

Recent dislikes: plums, pudding

Caitlynisms:
-Dad, I'm being Jesus and I'm going to get a jacket so I can see a movie with my friends.
-That be perfect
-Not yet!
-M: You can do anything you set your mind to.  You're awesome.  C: Uh huh.  I'm crazy awesome!
-Chase's Deli (Jason's Deli)
-What are us going to do tomorrow?
-What's AFTER nap?
-To the moon and back (when saying how much she loves us - a la the book Guess How Much I Love You)
