Caitlyn's First Vacation

Whew! What a great vacation! We had an awesome time with our California family and were sad to head home, although it was great to see Brian and Daisy and sleep in my own bed. Caitlyn and I were gone for 11 days and now I'm trying to get everything unpacked and back on schedule. Time zones are rough.

A lot happened while we were gone. Caitlyn was baptized Sunday, July 26th (more on that later). We spent our days relaxing on the dock, going for tube rides, playing cards and a brutal cliff climb from the dock up to the house (made even tougher carrying Caitlyn in her BabyBjorn). Caitlyn had near constant attention from all her aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, grandparents, great grandparent and cousins - and she loved it all! If anything, I think she'll have withdrawals from all the playing and interaction she had since I can only do so much. Caitlyn had a lot of firsts - she had her first real vacation, first lake swim, first boat ride, first tube wide, first consecutive rollovers (4 in one day!), first laugh and first trip to the beach.

She also had a growth spurt while we there - sleeping for over 12 hours straight one night! Brian couldn't believe how much bigger she'd gotten, and even my brother noticed that she grew in the 5 days after he saw her for the first time. I can't wait until her next doctor's appointment to see how much she has grown.

Now for the hardest part, picking just a few pictures out of almost 400.
