Yesterday Caitlyn had her follow up appointment to recheck her weight. The doctor had wanted her to gain at least 14 ounces and I can happily report that she exceeded that amount! Previously she had weighed 11 pounds, 7.2 ounces and yesterday she weighed in at 12 pounds, 7.6 ounces. Brian and I thought she had been looking a little thicker, but I was still a little worried. It was a huge relief to see that she had gained just over a pound. The doctor said I can stop the triple feeding, but I am going to have to be vigilant about tracking how much she is eating to ensure she continues gaining enough weight. I do plan on starting to wean her at the end of the month (so she'll be completely on the bottle by 6 months old) which will make tracking her intake a lot easier.
That is AWESOME news! SO happy for lots of reasons... the extra sleep you will get, the ability to measure and feel at ease with her formula intake and the fact that we all got to see a bonus mid-month Caitlyn horsie picture. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats - you survived "the regimen!" Good job, Mom!
