Since my last post was focused on our 2 week game plan I wanted to follow up with a little bit on what Caitlyn is like at 4 months old. She's incredibly huggable and sweet. Her little (really quite big) personality is emerging and she is always quick with a smile or "Caitlyn commentary" (spitting, blowing bubbles, laughing and generally cooing and gurgling up a storm). Her eyes keep getting lighter blue and her fuzzy ring of hair is a toss up between light brown and auburn.
Her hand sucking is in full swing and she just recently found her feet which she loves sucking on as well, with or without socks. She is starting to get much more mobile and active,
becoming quite the contortionist. She spastically kicks her legs, throws her arms out and arches her back in attempts to move around. I can even see her straining her abs and head trying to get herself up. She can roll relatively easily now and can even scoot a little. If I put her on her playmat, chances are she will be somewhere else on the floor within a matter of minutes (or seconds depending on her mood). I'm definitely having to keep a closer eye on her. She can also sit up now with some propping and assistance.
She is still loving her jumperoo and her hand eye coordination has improved so she is now able to play with the toys and even rotate around in her seat. Her playmat is probably her second favorite place to be (when she actually stays on it). She is entranced by all the hanging toys and links and makes conscious efforts to bat and grab them. Speaking of grabbing, she has become quite the grabber - taking hold of my face, glasses, necklace, shirt, magazine, you name it.
It really is amazing to watch her as she experiences everything for the first time. We have our good days and bad days but I wouldn't change it for the world - I am loving every minute of it.
