23 weeks pregnant
Large and in charge. That's become my motto over the last few weeks. Some days I think I can literally hear myself getting bigger. Besides getting increasingly uncomfortable and unable to buckle my sandals if sitting on the floor, I know that I am really lucky to be doing as well as I am. It's hard to always keep that in mind, but the fact that I am still able to be relatively active with Caitlyn and around the house should not be taken for granted.
As you all know by now, we recently bought a minivan to accommodate our growing brood. In addition, we put our house back on the market after the holidays. While the minivan has been awesome, trying to sell the house has not been going as well. Over the last month and a half we've only had two people look at the house with no further interest. As the twins' due date is rapidly approaching, we're definitely starting to get worried that we will have to remain here. Obviously we'll be able to make due, but it will definitely be cramped quarters and the thought of having to try and sell a house (read: keep it clean for showings) with three kids under the age of three is enough to give me nightmares. It's hard enough to do so now and Caitlyn is pretty easy. So keep your fingers crossed - we just have to continue trusting that everything happens for a reason.
On the twin front, I had a perinatal specialist appointment and all continues to look well. The twins are about 1 pound, 6 ounces each (doubling in size in a month!) which puts them in about the 50th percentile for weight. Both are pretty active - I can definitely feel them moving around and can sometimes even discern who is kicking me. Brian has even been able to feel a kick or two. Right now I'm going to the specialist every month and my regular doctor every two weeks. It means a lot of time spent at the medical center, but as a bonus I get to have a sonogram every time I see the specialist. This last visit, they actually did a regular and 3D sonogram so I was lucky enough to see the monkeys little faces and was treated to a big yawn from Emerson. They said the twins are still a little skinny now and next visit - at 28 weeks - will be the ideal time to view them in 3D. We'll actually get a DVD of them in action! So worth it for all these extra appointments.

Emerson - 23 weeks, 3 days (that's the umbilical cord going over her face)

Chase - 23 weeks, 3 days (he has his face snuggled in the membrane separating him from Emerson)
