I found out this week that some of my favorite people in the whole world would be close by in Rockwall, TX. I started babysitting for Ken and Cathy Raney when I was 13 years old and they had 3 kids, the youngest being 6 months old. I continued babysitting for them with the addition of two more kids and throughout middle school, high school and even in college when I was home visiting. The kids are truly all awesome in their own right and I always used them and their parents as an example of what I would want my family to be like one day. So, when I found out that Kara (the second oldest) was swimming in her first college championship meet I had to go. After some confusion, Caitlyn and made it in the nick of time to watch Kara take off swimming a personal best in her event and qualifying for finals tonight! After watching the meet, we went out for lunch and ice cream with Ken, Cathy, Kara and Ken's parents, enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery in Rockwall along the lakefront. My only complaint? I wish at least one of the Raney kids lived close enough to babysit!
