Last month my aunt and uncle drove my 86 year old grandma down to Texas to meet Chase and Emerson for the first time. We've visited them several times in Missouri, but with the twins traveling long distances has become very difficult. Even though it's a tough trip for my grandma (and not one she's made often), she toughed it out so she could hold all her great grand babies. My brothers hadn't seen her in awhile or the twins, and it's been almost a decade since we've all been together at once, so they decided to fly in for a mini family reunion of sorts. Joining them was my brother's wife Vladia.
We had a great time visiting, going to the park and feeding the ducks, telling stories from the past and eating great food. Caitlyn had a blast with her uncles and I was thrilled that she warmed up enough to sit in GiGi's lap again - she went through a spell where she loved playing with her but didn't want to be too close - and even gave her a smooch. After the Bibb's left, we managed to fit in a trip to the aquarium, Build-A-Bear where she chose and made a monkey aptly named Princess Monkey, and the fall festival at the Arboretum.
Now we're counting down to next June when we will all meet up again to celebrate my cousin's Renaissance wedding!
