The Cat in the Hat and Things One and Two (picture and the two below by Staci Johnson Photography)
Last Halloween I was pregnant and on an IV in the emergency room with a really bad stomach bug. Not the way I hoped to spend the day. Just a few days later, I found out we were having twins and I immediately knew I wanted them to be Things One and Two and Caitlyn would be the Cat in the Hat. Needless to say, I was really looking forward to celebrating this year and taking Caitlyn out for her very first trick-or-treating excursion. I used a mix of store bought items and handmade a few - like those blue wigs which were made by hot glueing feather boas on a winter hat. Caitlyn's really been getting into the holidays and Halloween has been the best yet. To say she had a blast would be an understatement. She was so excited to go trick-or-treating and get candy. After each house she would exclaim, "Next house! Next house!" When we got her home we let her pick one item out of her bag to eat. Did she go for the full size bag of M&Ms or anything chocolate? Nope. She picked a bag of pretzels.
