The best birthday a girl (and mommy) could have

Celebrating my 31st with my very best mommy friends and drinking buddies, Megan and Jamie

Here's to what was possible the best birthday ever (with the exception of being in Venice with Brian for my 22nd). Brian watched the kids and Patrice was the designated driver so my mommy friends, Megan - who was also celebrating a birthday - Jamie, and I could go indulge in a night out and some long overdue margaritas! It was so nice enjoying a cold, salted margarita while actually having a peaceful meal - yes, we even got to eat! So often with kids you end up scarfing something down if you even get to finish what you ordered, so we enjoyed every minute of our almost 3 hour meal!

To top everything off, Brian's parents actually encouraged us to go out to a hotel for the night. Brian was a little hesitant at first but once I told him I was going with or without him, he quickly jumped on board. Given this will most likely be our only vacation for the year, we splurged and spent a night at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas (just down the road from our house). It was absolute perfection. An awesome villa overlooking the golf course. Margaritas, chips and salsa by the pool. Reading not one, but three magazines from cover to cover. A long, peaceful soak in the bathtub. Great room service for breakfast and dinner. A movie in bed. AND, sleeping in with no baby monitor!!! Total and utter bliss. So a big thank you to Steve and Patrice, my amazing in-laws for making this happen!! It will be day I relive in my head as my happy place when all three kids are screaming.
