The morning of Thursday, May 26th, Brian and I left the house and Caitlyn with Beanie in charge and headed off to the hospital to get the show on the road. We got to the hospital and sat in a prep room for almost two hours (getting an IV, having the babies monitored) before finally getting wheeled into the operating room. I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't really be anxious. After getting my spinal, Brian was allowed into the OR and my doctor came in to begin the cesarean. Before we knew it the doctor was pulling Chase out and, even though I was numb from the ribcage down, I immediately feel relief. It was amazing hearing him cry out (he definitely has a set of lungs) and, just one minute later, Emerson joined her big brother. Everyone was impressed that I had made it that long and the babies were so big - over 13 pounds total! Although the doctor said that I would have delivered in the next 24 hours regardless. After a quick sew up I was in recovery while Brian went with the twins to the nursery. It was less than 3 hours from start to finish and everything couldn't have gone more smoothly. Chase and Emerson did great and I'm happy to report that they did not even have to go to the NICU.
So ready to deliver some babies - can you believe the size of my belly? I was measuring 49 weeks pregnant at just under 38 weeks.
Right before I was wheeled into the operating room

Chase Thomas born 12:18pm - 7 pounds, 5 ounces; 18 inches
Emerson Lilli born 12:19pm - 6 pounds, 18 inches
