This Saturday I hit another milestone in my twin pregnancy - 32 weeks! That means less than 6 weeks to go until my scheduled due date of May 26th. Just when I think I can't get bigger or more uncomfortable, I do! I hadn't done an official belly picture in 5 weeks and I can't believe the difference. I look like I'm smuggling at least one basketball under my shirt, if not two. I went to the specialist this week for my monthly sonogram and am happy to report that Chase and Emerson are doing great - weighing in at 4 lbs 1 oz each (35th % for all babies). The doctor said they should each continue gaining about a half pound a week until I deliver. When I expressed some concern about my growing discomfort, the doctor wasn't all that sympathetic telling me that he's never known anyone to pop and that at least I wasn't pregnant in August with triplets. Thanks doc - why don't we talk after you carry 8lbs + of babies (it should be noted that the doctor is male). I'm having a hard time believing I'll make it the full time given how big the babies already are - I fully expect to be traveling in a wheelbarrow in a few weeks - but I suppose we'll have to see. I waffle between being ready to get them out and worrying about all the things I still have left to do. In any event, this week I start seeing my doctor and the specialist every week for a sonogram and stress test. It appears there is at least an end in sight, even if I can't see it since my belly is in the way.
