Her new big girl bedding - all birds, owls and butterflies
To get ready for the twins impending arrival, we finally moved Caitlyn from her crib and nursery to a full size bed in our old guest room. I tried to make it as pretty and fun as possible for her to ease into what I thought could be a tough transition. All in all (knock on wood), it's been pretty smooth sailing. Bedtime has been great and Caitlyn loves sleeping with all the pillows and her stuffed friends. She moves around quite a bit, but I'm using Magic Bumpers - firm foam bumpers that go under the sheets to prevent them from rolling out - and they've been working perfectly. I wasn't sure how much sleep she would get and thought she would spend more time out of bed playing, but it's been close to a week and she does not get out of her bed until someone comes to get her. That makes it a whole lot easier for Mommy! While night time has been giving us a good 11-12 hours of sleep, nap time has been a little more difficult. While she's not getting out of bed, it is taking her much longer to fall asleep. I think part of it may be due to how much brighter the room is compared to her nursery, but I'm hoping to somewhat remedy that when we get her curtains up. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the results and am glad we were able to make the transition before the twins come. Now if I could only get their nursery finished!
Caitlyn's room is still a work in progress, but we're almost finished and I can't wait to get final pictures up when we're all done.

Adorable!
ReplyDeleteBlack out panels behind her curtains will make it look like nighttime! Evan's room is completely dark in the middle of the day and I completely credit that to long naps...
