The Storks come for a visit

We were lucky enough to have Papa, Nana, Aunt Katie and Cousin Mary come visit last weekend for Caitlyn's birthday party. Between getting ready for the party and some retail therapy, we made time to go to the Arboretum the last weekend of Spring Blooms, dyed some Easter eggs a little early (per Aunt Katie's request) and made an attempt to get some bluebonnet pictures. Caitlyn was in heaven with all the attention and activities. She loves going to the Arboretum and having free reign. We even explored some areas we hadn't before and she had a blast "making wishes" in the fountain - really just chunking some coins in.

Aunt Katie made a special request before her visit - to dye Easter eggs with Caitlyn. So Sunday morning we put everything together and had a mini dye session. Caitlyn wasn't so sure about getting her hands dirty, but loved coloring the eggs and adding stickers to her creations. After Nana and Papa left, Katie and I attempted to take Caitlyn to the park for bluebonnet pictures but she was having none of it. She cried, fussed, clung to me and even laid down in the muddy field of flowers. So most of my pictures involve her looking down and/or pouting. She finally perked up in the end when we stopped by to see the ducks, but the bluebonnet pics were almost a total bust. Such is the day in the life of an almost two year old.

We were really sad to see everyone go - it almost broke my heart to see how upset Caitlyn was when everyone left. Plus she would ask to see them in the mornings. But they'll be coming back in the next month or so when the twins arrive and we can't wait!
