Straight from the Storks Nest: 11 months in review

Sweet Emmy is definitely the spunky one in the family. She is very agile now and likes to try and get into everything. She has no fear and will crawl over anything headfirst, no questions asked. Brian is convinced that she is going to be the cause of our first emergency room visit. While spunky, she is a very sweet soul. Her smile and face scrunching melts my heart every time. She is definitely the ring leader - hitting almost every milestone before Chase - and it cracks me up to see him following her around. They don't play together per se, but they do make each other giggle and they will often "share" toys and take each others pacifiers. It's actually been really good for them because they've gotten use to moving on to something else if they don't get their way.

There have been no new milestone's this month. At this point we are just waiting for more teeth and to walk. Emmy has been pushing her baby stroller around and has stood unassisted a few times but no other signs of being ready. She has been teething like crazy and has all the crankiness to prove it even if no new teeth have broken through (she's holding at four). She has started developing a stranger anxiety, or maybe it's just a want mommy anxiety, but I think a lot of it has to do with the teething. If I put her down she will scream and crawl after me so she can climb up my leg and if I leave her with the sitter or the Y, she will start screaming too, but usually only for a little bit. I'm hoping it's a phase she moves through quickly because it's hard to get much done with a screaming child attached to your leg.

Favorites: tart fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, turkey, green beans, taking baths, climbing, getting into everything, playing and giggling with her big sister, being in the water, living life full throttle
