After a day's visit in California, we left the kids sleeping and caught an early flight to Maui. What a difference it makes traveling without three small children! We were able to upgrade our tickets and had a peaceful flight to Hawaii. The time went by fast, but the days also seemed much longer. It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you're just getting yourself ready. We started most days by running along the beach, had breakfast on the lanai and then got in some good sightseeing. We finished our days with some of the best and most romantic meals we've enjoyed in years. While in Maui we rested, read without interruption, went whale watching, hiked in the jungle, saw a waterfall and two rainbows, went to a luau, snorkeled several beaches and reefs, swam with sea turtles, shopped, and ate some excellent shaved ice.
All in all it was an amazing trip and we can't thank Steve and Patrice enough for taking care of our motley crew for six days so we could have a romantic anniversary trip (not to mention some sleep!). It was no easy task and you took it on like champs. You guys are awesome!
