The birthday girl with Mommy and Daddy
Brian's dad and other mom, Patrice, graciously offered to watch all three of the kiddos (clearly they had no idea what they were in for) while we went to Hawaii (alone at last!) to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary (a decade?!). So we packed up the crew and all our gear and flew to California. I can't say that flying with three kids under the age of three was horrible, but it was no picnic either. It is no easy task to keep two supremely wiggly 10 month olds still in a super small space, but both Chase and Emerson handled themselves reasonably well, and big sister Caitlyn was awesome. Of course her own personal TV and all the snacks she could stomach helped.
We were lucky enough to be able to coordinate the trip so we could celebrate Caitlyn's birthday with our California family before we left for Hawaii. Caitlyn was thrilled to be having a princess party and to spend the day with Nana, Papa and her aunt and uncles. And a trip to California would not be complete without going out with my brothers. True to form, we had a semi raucous evening of laughing, ribbing each other, eating, drinking and just generally being merry.
Always a lady (most of the time)
